Director – Public Affairs

JDA Frontline is currently seeking an experienced and forward thinking full-time Director of Public Affairs.

JDA Frontline is a veteran public affairs firm with a proven history in helping their clients achieve successful and effective communications and media relations programs. Clients include trade associations, corporations and non-profits facing complex regulatory, legislative and public policy challenges.

Responsibilities

  1. Communications Strategy Assist in the development of communications strategies to achieve both the firm’s and client’s goals and objectives. Strategies should include creative and thought-provoking traditional and digital media executions to engage and grow target audiences and advance messaging in the press, political and public policy communities. Target audiences range from the national and regional public, to highly specialized thought leaders, opinion elites and elected officials.
  1. Media and Press Outreach Actively develop relationships and engage with national and regional journalists and bloggers on a myriad of issues including trade, tax and transportation. Generate earned media coverage about agenda, issues, campaigns and events. Serve as a primary liaison with print, digital and broadcast press.
  1. Message and Material Development Develop fresh, compelling, timely and customized content, media messages, talking points and other communications materials for an array of clients and on behalf of the firm. Manage design and production of both print and digital/social tools and resources. Resulting communications resources must be compelling and substantive with the goal of breaking through a crowded public policy environment to garner attention and persuade targeted audiences.
  1. Digital Campaign Management Assist in the development of consistent and innovative multi-media content and campaigns for all digital platforms including websites, blogs, Twitter, Facebook and other social media outlets. Maximize social networking tools and develop effective e-marketing plans to build and inform target audiences.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will be skilled, creative and driven, with 3-5 years of communication and/or public policy experience. He/She will also possess a strong interest in political and public affairs, and a clear track record of engaging and expanding support through a combination of press and digital tools.

Strong public speaking, project management, writing and interpersonal skills are required. Advocacy organization, digital skills and/or Capitol Hill/public policy experience is preferred.
